Kumar Vishwas (born 10 February 1970) is a well-known Indian Hindi poet, performer, lecturer, and public speaker, widely popular for bringing poetry to mainstream audiences, especially the youth. He was born in Pilkhuwa, Uttar Pradesh, into a middle-class family. Initially pushed toward engineering, he left that path to pursue Hindi literature, eventually earning a PhD and becoming a lecturer. Vishwas rose to national fame through kavi sammelans (poetry gatherings), where his emotional, romantic, and socially relevant poetry connected strongly with young audiences. His iconic poem “Koi Deewana Kehta Hai” became a major turning point in his career and popularity.
